"The initial representative was great. Then I went through State Farm’s onboarding process, and honestly, it was a real pain. I received a flood of emails, but none made it clear what the actual first step was or how to create an account. The information I needed was buried deep in the message chain — that should have been front and center in the very first email. As someone with over 15 years in the IT and software development industry, I’d consider myself a power user, and even I found the experience unnecessarily confusing. The entire onboarding process needs a major overhaul and simplification. A streamlined, step-by-step approach with clear communication would make a huge difference for new customers. I had to call the customer service several times just to be able to create an account because it wasn't working. When I mentioned to the technical support number would she submit a ticket to suggest streamlining the onboarding process, she said that's just the way it is. She didn't do it didn't have any inclination to do it nor probably could she do it. Honestly I'm thinking about switching over to progressive because I haven't run into these kind of problems onboarding in a long time. I on-boarded it all state no problem at all I onboarded at travelers no problem at all. I highly recommend that the State farm onboarding process be completely overhauled and streamlined."
